Gianfranco Boffelli (born Venice 1944) has lived in Lido since 1960. Boffelli creates his pieces after a lengthy preliminary conceptual study of the shapes he wants to produce the materials he wants to use. On completion of the study, he travels to Murano where, in collaboration with a glass factory, he produces the pieces. It is impossible not to be impressed and attracted by his compositions in which glass and light merge and transform the objects into beautiful work of art. This particular piece is one of two works depicting 'Sardinia by Day' and 'Sardinia at Dusk'.
